OLu Receives WASC's Highest Accreditation Status

Orange Lutheran is pleased to announce that it has received the Six-Year Accreditation Status, the highest level of accreditation possible, from the Accrediting Commission for Schools of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) following an 18-month self-study period and a multi-day campus visit by ACS WASC representatives.

This is the second consecutive time that Orange Lutheran has received the rating, affirming its success in providing a high-quality, Christian education to learners.

When determining accreditation status, ACS WASC, one of six regional accreditation bodies in the United States, conducted a full evaluation of Orange Lutheran’s accomplishment of school purpose (including core beliefs, vision, and mission), schoolwide learner outcomes, methods for evaluating progress and success, organization, staffing, facilities, and much more. During a four-day campus visit in March, ACS WASC representatives also met with the Board of Directors and groups of faculty, staff, current students, and parents to learn more about the culture and community of Orange Lutheran to supplement their findings.

“The school accreditation and self-study process has truly been a labor of love engaged by our community,” says Mr. Todd Eklund, Principal. “It has affirmed our purpose, allowed us to celebrate the work that God is doing in our community, and it has helped to confirm and solidify that our future plans will continue to enrich and benefit the needs of our students well into the future!”

ASC WASC representatives commended Orange Lutheran on its strong commitment to the mission of helping students internalize the Gospel message of salvation in Christ Jesus, as well as its ample personalized student support resources, passionate faculty and staff, and delivery of a relevant curriculum that supports 21st-century learners.

Orange Lutheran is also accredited by the National Lutheran School Association (NLSA) and recently completed the accreditation renewal process, for which it will receive the findings this summer.
