Freshman female wrestler Jennifer Flores entered the OLu history books on Saturday afternoon! Flores, competing in the 111lb weight class, captured the Empire League title after defeating the #1 seed from Valencia in the finals. The Trinity League merges with the Empire League in the girls wrestling division.
Flores continued her historic run at the CIF Finals meet at Corona High School. She won her first two matches before dropping her first match in round 3.
She won two more matches in the consolation bracket before dropping her final two. She finished 6th in the 111lb weight class, which booked her ticket to the CIF Masters Meet. She becomes the first female wrestler to ever qualify for CIF Masters.
Flores is now 29-13 on the season and will travel to Palm Springs High School on Friday, February 17, for Masters.
Competing in the CIF-SS Masters meet at 111lb Flores went 1-2. She lost her first match but bounced back with a win in match 2 before losing her final bout. Flores wraps up her season in the Masters meet while making history along the way becoming, the first female wrestler in school history to win a Trinity League title, compete at CIF Finals, and CIF Masters.
