The boys and girls track, and field teams had athletes compete in 6 individual events and three relays this past Saturday at Moor Park High School in the Division 3 Championships.
The boys squad finished 3rd in Division 3.
The boys had athletes in 4 individual events and two relays. The boys 4x100 group (Jackson Weng, Deuce Frierson, Khanrad Hernandez, and Matt Kaloustian) won the CIF D3 title after running at 41.56 time in the final. They had previously won the Trinity League championship two weeks ago. They advanced to CIF Masters next week.
The boys 4x400 (Roary Erskine, Khanrad Hernandez, Deuce Frierson, and Alex Vazquez) placed 2nd with a time of 3:21:67. They also booked a ticket to Masters.
Matt Kaloustian placed 2nd in the 200M with a time of 21.69. He is an alternate for the CIF Masters Meet. Jackson Weng finished 7th with a 22.23. Kaloustian also competed in the 100M and placed 5th with a time of 10.88.
In field events, Nicholas Ling placed 4th in pole vault with a mark of 13-9. Hernandez, who competed in 2 relays, placed 3rd in the Triple Jump with a jump of 44-2.
The girls also had a relay, and two athletes compete individually. Amelia Trautman placed 5th in the 400M with a time of 58.86. Heaven Johnson was 7th in the shot put with a mark of 35-9. The 4x100 team (Soleil Luna, Amelia Trautman, Jordyn Gallegos, Milana McClain) placed 8th with a time of 50.16. The team placed 13th in Division 3.
